The wheelchair on the right was the initial contact with this family through Roland Elf on left and Dick Rutgers on right. The wheelchair is provided by Bethel Ministries and was likely transported to Guatemala via a Vine International container.

Dr. Bruce at work. While in the hospital, Hilda asked where Dr. Bruce was and why he wasn't there to help. It was a sweet moment. It was an encouragement to me as we are concerned about the degree of damage done by the now long term hydrocephalus. She has a good memory and good vocal skills.
Hilda has 11 sisters and three brothers. The church is in their yard and we used a church pew as an exam table. The little sisters were always in the room and seemed protective of their sister Hilda.
Making relationships for the purpose of evangelism of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and the secular world calls it mere bedside manners. It was fun to watch Bruce at work with the patient and the family. You are good at your craft brother.
The Lopez's pila - clothes for an extended family, dishes, and baby baths are done on this blue "washing machine". There is an etiquette to simple handwashing. If you are new to this try to observe someone ahead of you. Do not contaminate the main water storage area with your dirty hands!
